Dog Vaccination
Rabies is a disease caused by a virus that affects the nervous system of mammals such as raccoons, skunks, foxes, bats, dogs, cats, horses, ferrets, and even humans.* It is fatal to wild and domestic animals, as well as to humans, if not treated promptly.*
In New Brunswick, the Local Government Act requires municipalities to ensure that dogs within their jurisdiction are vaccinated against the disease. Dieppe dog owners must therefore provide proof of rabies vaccination when they first register their animal, and every one to three years after that, as directed by their veterinarian.
