The population of Dieppe has more than quadrupled in less than 30 years. In 2021, the city was home to 28 114 residents, compared to 25,384 in 2016.
The city’s commercial vocation and its economy based on a healthy environment make it the ideal spot to do business, raise a family or take a vacation.
Dieppe’s enviable geographic location and the presence of the Greater Moncton Roméo-LeBlanc International Airport within city limits give residents and visitors access to the world. The city is a major distribution hub for goods and services in the Atlantic region and the northeastern United States.
Dieppe boasts a highly qualified and bilingual labour force. More than three-quarters of the city’s residents speak both official languages, i.e., English and French. The population is young, dynamic and skilled. According to the latest estimates, the average age of residents is 39.5 years, compared to 46.1 years for New Brunswick as a whole.
In addition to its highly developed urban infrastructure, the city also boasts several parks and green spaces and over 70 kilometres of walking and cycling trails.
More and more families are moving to Dieppe owing to the city’s stability, safety and vitality, yet despite phenomenal growth, Dieppe has maintained a sense of community that residents appreciate.
Residents have access to quality health care thanks to several medical clinics, as well as the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital and the Moncton Hospital, both located within minutes of Dieppe.
Living in Dieppe means having access to eight French- and English-language elementary schools and high schools, as well as the Dieppe campus of the Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick. Opportunities to pursue postsecondary studies are available at the Université de Moncton and Crandall University. The city is also home to several private training schools.
The Dieppe Arts and Culture Centre promotes our community’s cultural and artistic vitality. Sports enthusiasts are well served by two arenas, an aquatic centre, a variety of sports fields, parks for year-round outdoor sports, and numerous walking and cycling trails.
