Planning Advisory Committee
The City of Dieppe’s Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) provides opinions and recommendations to City Council on matters affecting urban development in the municipality.
The PAC’s duties and powers are listed in the Community Planning Act. The Committee makes decisions and issues quasi-legal opinions, in addition to recommending amendments to municipal bylaws, such as the zoning bylaw, as well as the municipal development plan.
The PAC evaluates the technical aspects of variance requests, with input from City staff, and ensures that such requests are consistent with the overall intent of the municipal plan. In some cases, the Committee can even impose development conditions on requests.
PAC decisions have a major impact on the City’s development. The Committee meets every third Wednesday of the month. PAC meeting agendas and minutes can be viewed on the Council calendar.
