Water and sewer rates
In 2024, the annual cost per home is $948. For clients with water meters, the rate is $3.95 per cubic metre. There are several ways to pay your bill.
Why must I pay these fees?
Money collected for these services provides residents with:
- quality drinking water
- wastewater collection and treatment
- maintenance of the water distribution system
- maintenance of the sewer system
If you divide the total amount by the number of days in a year, water and sewer service costs $2.60/day per residence, a very affordable rate for a quality service.
Property taxes
Property taxes are paid by every person who owns property in New Brunswick. Service New Brunswick is responsible for annual property assessments. The Department of Finance and Treasury Board is responsible for billing and collecting all property taxes, including municipal ones, which are then remitted to the municipalities.
In 2024, the tax rate is $1.4300 per $100 of appraised value.
