Coat of Arms and Flag
Dieppe’s coat of arms and flag were adopted in 1979.
The maple leaves represent the city’s quality of life and fresh air. The top of the coat of arms consists of a blue, white and red flag. The yellow star represents Acadia, while the rose symbolizes the valiant soldiers who died for our freedom, as well as Sainte-Thérèse parish, which made up a large part of Dieppe when the city was incorporated in 1952. The fleur-de-lis acknowledges the French heritage of most Dieppe residents.
The airplane is a nod to the Greater Moncton Roméo-LeBlanc International Airport, which lies within city limits.
The Petitcodiac River, once an important transportation link, is also depicted.
The motto, Constantia et virtute, on the top banner means “By constancy and virtue.”
