Learn more about your canine friend
DIEPPE, N.B. — Our four-legged friends and their masters are invited to the first Dog Day to be held on Sunday, Nov. 3, at Rotary St-Anselme Park in Dieppe.
Does your dog have some natural talents of which you may not be aware? Learn from professional experts, visit the kiosks and attend the seminars on dog health and good behaviour, take part in an introduction to first aid course, have fun on a group walk or just enjoy socializing with your pet.
“There will be interesting kiosks on physical exercise for your dog, grooming and first aid,” said Nicole Melanson, coordinator in the City of Dieppe’s Building inspection and Law Enforcement Division.
The day begins at 1 p.m. with kiosks and seminars. A paw hunt will take place from 1:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. where participants must find five dog paws in the park and return them to the City of Dieppe’s information kiosk to receive a prize. A group walk will take place on one of the park’s trails from 1:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. Activities are free and will end by 3 p.m. There will also be several prizes available to be won.
Dieppe residents will also be able to renew their dog licences on site. Proof of vaccinations must be provided. Cost is $10 for a spayed female or neutered male or $20 for intact dogs of either sex. Licences may be paid only by cash or cheque.
