Speaking at a Council Meeting
The City of Dieppe recognizes the importance of public participation in the decision-making process and encourages residents to attend Council meetings. Interested parties can attend on site or remotely. Check the Council calendar for the next meeting date.
Got a question for City Council? Members of the public can ask questions at regular Council meetings. If you would rather not ask your question in person, you can submit it in advance either online or over the phone.
Things to keep in mind
- Anyone wishing to ask a question must provide their name and address.
- Questions must be addressed to the Council as a whole.
- Questions may be accepted by Council but replied to at a future meeting or in writing. Requesters will be informed of the means of communication to be used for the reply.
- Regular City Council meetings are not the appropriate venue for lodging complaints against City employees. Complaints should be submitted in writing to the Chief Administrative Officer.
Process for submitting a question
In person
Once the agenda item, Questions by Members of the Public, is reached, the Mayor will invite you to ask your question. The meetings are held in Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 333 Acadie Avenue.
By telephone
Leave a voicemail message at 506.877.7903. Make sure to state your name, address and a telephone number where you can be reached before asking your question.
Online
The City reserves the right to refuse questions that do not follow the guidelines provided above.
Your question may be reworded when read at the meeting, but its meaning will not be changed.
The City cannot guarantee that questions submitted too close to the start of a meeting will be read that evening.
