Tintamarre with international kite fliers
DIEPPE (N.B.) — Dieppe KITE Festival activities are well underway as the festival continues to attract large crowds.
Don’t miss the start of the vehicle tintamarre tomorrow beginning at 5 p.m. at Dover Park as it heads to CCNB-Dieppe (community college). Kite fliers will be at Place 1604 for the opening of National Acadian Day celebrations with Francelle Maria, Fayo and Laurie LeBlanc.
Here is the schedule for Thursday, August 15:
12 p.m.
Children’s show with magician Rémi Boudreau, presented by Dr. Martin Orthodontist, $2 children (12 and under), $3 adults (13 and over)
1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Dr. Martin Orthodontist Community Zone open (inflatable games)
Day pass: $7
Individual tickets: $2
1 p.m.
Candy shower
Exhibit tent opens – See the kites from the creation contest (“solar system” theme)
1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Kite demonstrations (one-line, acrobatic, inflatable, creations and free flight)
Atlantic Superstore’s kite-making tent (Passports available here)
1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Artisans’ Fair open
2 p.m.
Running of the Bols and mini Rokkaku combats for children
Old-time storytelling – Sementy – Presented by Kouchibouguac Park - $2 children (12 and under), $3 adults (13 and over)
3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Concert with fiddlers Christine and Janelle Melanson presented by Dr. Martin Orthodontist - $2 children (12 and under), $3 adults (13 and over)
4 p.m.
