Dieppe celebrates Public Works Week
DIEPPE, N.B. – The City of Dieppe will be taking an active part once again this year in National Public Works Week from May 21-25.
“Because of Public Works...” is the theme of this year's week-long celebration which highlights the importance of the work done by the City of Dieppe’s Public Works and Engineering Department employees and the impact this work has on residents' daily lives.
Activities planned throughout the week include:
- May 21-25: Exhibit in the foyer of city hall;
- May 22: Visit our Operations Centre on Wednesday, from 3-7 p.m. at 100 Rufin Street. Everyone welcome;
- Visit of grade two students from École Amirault to the water tower
The Public Works and Engineering Department is made up of three divisions – Engineering, Water and Sewer, and Public Works. Division employees are responsible for, among others, water quality control for the municipal distribution system, maintenance of streets and sidewalks, road work planning, maintenance of the storm and sanitary sewer systems, maintenance of water pumping stations and reservoirs, as well as maintenance of traffic lights and illuminated crosswalks.
