Take on the Wellness Challenge for October
As part of Wellness Week, the City of Dieppe is organizing a Wellness Challenge in collaboration with the Province of New Brunswick, Wellness Branch, the Department of Social Development, and Vitalité Health Network.
From October 1 to 7, we encourage residents to drink more water, eat more vegetables and fruits, and get physically active by discovering the city’s many facilities.
“This year, we really want to put emphasis on the numerous facilities available in the city. Combined with a healthy diet and good water intake, we believe that it could make a difference in people’s health,” said Sonya Babineau, Community Officer at the City of Dieppe.
Everyone can participate: simply fill in the table with all the actions you complete in each category (physical activity, water intake, vegetables and fruits), each day of the week. There are also ideas of activities you can do across the city and tips to increase your water, vegetables and fruits intake. For instance, there will be several activities to choose from at the Aquatic and Sports Centre, including aquafitness and Aqua HIIT classes, free for the occasion. A free workshop will also be held at Rotary St-Anselme Park on food waste, especially vegetables and fruits waste. For the complete list of ideas of actions and activities, see the accompanying document.
Complete at least three actions per category during the week and email sonya.babineau@dieppe.ca for the chance to win one of three prizes including:
- 1 book of healthy recipes
- 2 S’well® water bottles
- 4 passes for an aquatic activity at the Dieppe Aquatic and Sports Centre
- And many more!
The Wellness Challenge initiative is in line with the Wellness Strategy adopted by the City of Dieppe. According to the guidelines set out in this strategy, the municipality is committed to promoting healthy eating and physical activity in order to promote wellness in the community.
