2016 Record of Construction for the City of Dieppe
DIEPPE, NB – A total of 525 building permits were issued in 2016, representing more than $90 million in total investments and exceeding the previous year's total of $70 million.
The City of Dieppe had a successful year in 2016 by issuing 123 permits for commercial and institutional projects. This represents investments of more than $46.5 million, in addition to 402 permits for residential projects, representing $43.5 million in investments.
"There was notable development and growth in Dieppe in 2016. The expansion of the industrial park on Aviation Avenue continued and we received approval to annex 2,560 acres of land located east of the industrial park and of Roméo-LeBlanc International Airport. Downtown development also took off with the addition of new buildings, including a hotel and a congress centre," said Mayor Yvon Lapierre.
Louis Godbout, Executive Director of Expansion Dieppe, applauds the economic growth achieved again this year. "We are very proud of the economic development in our region in 2016, particularly of the downtown growth. Steps have been taken to develop a master plan for Downtown Dieppe, which will give us a vision for future development in this area."
