Fun festivities for National Acadian Day in Dieppe
DIEPPE, N.B. — The Acadian flag along with Acadie’s colours will be featured on August 15 in Dieppe as part of a fun-filled day hosted by the municipality.
The day will kick off with activities at the CCNB-Dieppe starting at 11 a.m. with a community BBQ, some face painting, a balloon artist and music by Denis Leger who will sing popular Acadian songs. He will prepare the crowd who will be taking part in the Tintamarre, setting off on foot at noon and making its way towards Place 1604.
Starting at 1 p.m., five artists will share the stage: Raphael Butler, Laurie LeBlanc, Daniel Goguen, Les Jeunes d’Asteure and Big Bad Marty Band. These free public performances will end around 7:30 p.m. Magician Rémi Boudreau will also be there from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Kite International will then take over, featuring Tradition, Bois Joli and 1755 at the Arthur-J.-LeBlanc Centre.
