Lots of Acadian Day festivities in Dieppe
DIEPPE, N.B. — The public is invited to attend an array of activities organized by the City of Dieppe for Acadian Day on Friday, August 15, taking place at CENTENAIRE ARENA and the Arthur-J.-LeBlanc Centre parking lot.
The day begins with a children’s tintamarre (noise parade) from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The tintamarre leaves from CCNB-Dieppe (community college) heading to CENTENAIRE ARENA where a free concert by Art Richard begins at 11:45 a.m.
Six performers will take to the stage beginning at 1 p.m. Josiane Comeau, Jacques Comeau, Maurice Belliveau, Rhéal LeBlanc, Joannie Benoit and Jason Guerette will perform a free concert until approximately 5:30 p.m. Inflatable games will also be on site.
The vehicle tintamarre begins at 5:30 p.m. from the Centenaire Arena (489 Notre-Dame Street) proceeding then to the Arthur-J.-LeBlanc Centre (via Du Marché Street, Amirault Street, Chartersville Road, Centrale Street and Melanson Road). There will also be a prize for the best-decorated vehicle. The winner will receive a $300 gift card from Shell. No registration required.
Dieppe KITE International then takes over with the presentation of the first of its two evening concerts at the Arthur-J.-LeBlanc Centre featuring Suroit, Swing, Réveil, Cayouche, as well as Jacques Comeau, Josianne Comeau and Jason Guerette, followed by the concert on Saturday, August 16, featuring George Belliveau, Hert LeBlanc, Big Bad Marty Band and André-Philippe Gagnon. The August 15 concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the August 16 th show will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance or $35 at the door.
Tickets for the two concerts are available at both Jean Coutu locations in Dieppe, Jean Coutu in Shediac, Jean Coutu on Mountain Road and St. George Street, Joanne Video in Bouctouche, Home Hardware in Memramcook, Higho Market in Saint-Antoine or online at billetterieacces.ca.
