Fourth Edition of the Curbside Treasures Pickup
The City of Dieppe invites its residents to take part in the fourth edition of the Curbside treasures pickup which will take place on Saturday, May 18, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (in case of rain, the activity will be rescheduled to Sunday, May 19, same hours).
Residents are encouraged to free up more space in their homes by placing items in good condition curbside. In one fell swoop, these objects placed curbside can become treasures for others, all the while reduce our environmental footprint.
To participate, display a sign indicating that your articles can be claimed free of charge (available at dieppe.ca) and make sure the items you don’t want to give away are not placed curbside.
Curbside treasures can be books, compact discs and DVDs, furniture and small appliances, sports gear, toys, garden tools, kitchen accessories, dinnerware, cutlery, pots, pans, unwanted gifts, electronic devices and clothing.
Some items are not permitted during this treasure hunt such as construction material, paint, bed bug infested items (e.g. mattress and bedding), and things listed as dangerous items (complete list at eco360.ca). Visit Health Canada’s Consumer Product Safety Bureau’s website for a list of children’s items that are not recommended for curbside pickup.
In order to avoid violating the bylaw regulating the collection of waste (C-2), please put away your unclaimed treasures no later than 6 p.m. on the day of the activity.
For unclaimed treasures, rather than restoring them in your basement and allowing dust to accumulate again, you can still donate them to various community organizations in the area. Visit https://bit.ly/2J29lpY for more information. Happy treasure hunting!
