New Codiac Transpo routes proposed
DIEPPE, N.B. — The City of Dieppe is seeking comments and suggestions from residents until Tuesday, April 23, regarding potential improvements to the public transit system serving the municipality.
Open-house sessions will also take place on Wednesday, March 27, and Wednesday, April 3, between 6 and 8 p.m. in the foyer of Dieppe City Hall.
The frequency and duration of trips seem to be the main sources of frustration from current and potential riders. Codiac Transpo is therefore proposing changes to the three current routes.
Overview of proposed changes
- A 30-minute reduction in the total travel times by buses number 91 and 92. The travel time of bus number 90 (Express) remains at 30 minutes, however some changes to its route will occur.
- Increase in frequency during rush hours. Buses number 91 and 92 will make stops every 30 minutes instead of every 60 minutes.
- Establishment of a pilot project that will see a shuttle service take over at the municipality’s outlying limits currently served by a bus, but that would no longer be served by a bus based on the proposed changes. This shuttle service will be offered by taxi or by other means and will make the link with the bus service.
- Improved transfers at Champlain Place and better connectivity with other routes.
The proposed routes’ details may be found at dieppe.ca. A form is also available for submitting your comments.
