Participatory Budgeting Project - Winners!
DIEPPE, N.B. — The City of Dieppe is happy to announce the winning projects of the participatory budgeting project. This initiative, being funded by the municipality, allowed residents to bring forward ideas aimed at improving the community.
Starting with a hundred or so ideas, a list of 18 finalist projects made it at the voting phase in which over 1,400 votes were collected. Each project needed a minimum support of 25%.
The following four projects will receive funding (total amount $300,000) from the municipality for the participatory budgeting project:
- Lakeburn Rocks – indoor climbing wall
- Outdoor physical training circuit
- A good old fashioned nature park
- Boards and a special playing surface for ball hockey

- Countering social isolation of seniors with weekly rides
- Purchase of computers for the Dieppe Public Library
- Acoustics and sound in the Atrium at the Arts and Culture Centre
- A heritage to be discovered: Dieppe’s story told
- Personal finance course
- Breeze from the Past at Place 1604
- Garden featuring sculptures and poetry along the Riverfront Trail
