Intersocial Program
DIEPPE, N.B. — The Intersocial Program is back with an engaging schedule for participants. The program is designed for adults aged 18 and older who have special intellectual needs and who are independent and mobile enough to take part in a variety of group excursions.
“This program has been around for 15 years and has been very popular in the community,” said Sonya Babineau, community officer for non-profits and youth for the City of Dieppe. “Participants from Dieppe are picked up at their homes with a van, while non-residents are asked to be at City Hall for 5 p.m.”
Three municipal employees will supervise the participants. Each employee has followed a first-aid course.
“Activities include a visit from an artist, a night of bowling, a science experience, a movie night, Valentine’s Day crafts, a visit from the SPCA, cooking with a dietitian, a yoga session, a visit to a sugar camp and supper in restaurant,” Mrs. Babineau added.
Registration for residents will take place at the Dieppe Aquatic and Sports Centre, 111 Aquatique Street, on Tuesday, January 6, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., as well as on Wednesday, January 7, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Registration for non-residents will take place on Thursday, January 8, starting at 6 p.m.
Participants will also be able to register online beginning January 6 at 6 p.m. To register, a profile number and credit card are required.
Registration is $20 for residents and $35 for non-residents.
