DIEPPE, N.B. — The Dieppe-Memramcook P.R.O. Kids Committee, friends and employees of BoFM and CJSE will don their wool socks to walk 10,000 steps through the streets of Dieppe and Memramcook to raise $15,000 for children to participate in sport, recreational and cultural activities.
This fundraiser will take place on Friday, October 5. The first walk will take place through the streets of Memramcook starting at École Abbey Landry from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Another walk will take place beginning at Dieppe City Hall at 10 a.m. and ending at the Dieppe Co-Op at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Through their 50/50 draws, the Dieppe Co-Op will match the funds donated up to a maximum of $15,000.
Cardboard wool sock cut-outs are now on sale for $2 each at the Dieppe Co-Op and Scotiabank in Champlain Place.
The City of Dieppe wishes to advise motorists that traffic will be slowed on Champlain Street and Dieppe Boulevard during the walk.
Funds raised will go toward youth to participate in activities that would otherwise not be accessible to them because of financial or family-related reasons. The funds will be used to pay for costs associated with these activities.
