New Construction Record in 2022 for the City of Dieppe
DIEPPE, NB — The City of Dieppe has once again beaten its construction record. Up to now this year, it has issued 497 permits representing total investments of over $108 million. This beats the previous record of $101.9 million established in 2021.
Of these permits, 92 are for commercial, industrial and institutional projects authorized up to October 31, totalling investments of around $16 million, and the other 405 permits represent residential projects, for $92.1 million in investments.
“Dieppe continues to grow and to be an ideal place to live, work and raise a family,” said Mayor Yvon Lapierre. “We beat another new record this year by issuing permits for over 645 residential units in only ten months. This is good news and puts us in a better position with respect to the housing shortage in the region and with becoming a destination of choice in Atlantic Canada for Francophone immigration,” he added.
“Dieppe Boulevard is changing every day, and you can see its vision of becoming a dynamic urban corridor being fulfilled. This artery continues to see major levels of development, with construction having begun in 2022 on three large multi-family housing projects,” mentioned Alexandre Girard, Director of Planning and Development.
“Dieppe’s industrial and business parks are attracting new companies because it is positioned in a strategic location for private investors. We’re proud of this economic growth, which is due to our diverse business community, and grateful for the confidence that investors show in our beautiful City,” noted Louis Godbout, Executive Director of Expansion Dieppe.
The year 2022 is not over, and the record will definitely be higher because we still have November and December to take into account.
