The importance of physical distancing
What is physical distancing?
It's about changing your daily habits to minimize close contact with other people. By practising physical distancing, we can slow the spread of COVID-19.
Therefore, this means that if you have to go out for a walk or a bike ride, it is important to be courteous and alert.
Using trails and sidewalks during COVID-19
- Stay home if you are sick or have symptoms.
- Stay 6 feet (2 metres) from everyone else at all times.
- Whenever possible, do not take a route where you think it will be difficult to keep 6 feet away from others.
- If you are a cyclist, use the lanes reserved for you and make your presence known using your bell, horn or voice.
- Avoid gathering.
- Pay attention to your surroundings and leave at least 6 feet for other users to pass safely.
- Follow the personal hygiene rules issued by Public Health.
By sharing the route responsibly, we can reduce the spread of COVID-19.
