Women celebrated in Dieppe
DIEPPE, N.B. — To commemorate International Women’s Day, the City of Dieppe is hosting a free event to highlight the importance of education, networking and leadership in the success of women in the workforce.
The event begins at 4 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, at CCNB-Dieppe (community college) with a presentation from the chair of the Committee on Equal Opportunity between Women and Men, Jody Dallaire. She is also a councillor-at-large for the City of Dieppe.
A panel will then discuss the place of women in society. Members of the panel include Françoise Roy, a citizen and volunteer; Isabelle Harrigan, an 11th-grade student at Mathieu-Martin and member of the City Dieppe’s Youth Action Committee; Maryse LeBlanc, mayor of the Beaubassin-Est Rural Community; and Monique Boudreau, executive director of the Francophone South School District.
Guest speaker Maryse LeBlanc, mayor of the Beaubassin-Est Rural Community, will make a presentation at 5 p.m.
