Sledge hockey program returns to Dieppe
DIEPPE, NB — The City of Dieppe is pleased to offer a sledge hockey program once again to youth 16 years of age or older with a physical disability in a lower limb, as well as any adult who wishes to try the sport.
“The City of Dieppe is proud to offer the general public the opportunity to try sledge hockey in a modern facility designed to accommodate the sport,” said Jonathan Desroches, community officer with the municipality. “In fact, the COOP IGA surface at the UNIplex has plexiglass in front of the players’ benches and the penalty boxes, which allows the players to see what’s happening on the ice. The doors to the players’ benches and penalty boxes provide direct and unobstructed access to the ice.”
A total of 10 sledges are available free of charge for members of the public to try out.
The sessions will be held from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. on the following Saturdays:
- October 15
- October 22
- October 29
- November 5
- November 12
- November 19
- December 3
- December 17

- February 4
- February 18

The City is also looking for volunteers to help ensure the activity runs smoothly on and off the ice.
