Dieppe Harvest Festival celebrates local products!
DIEPPE, N.B. — The Dieppe Harvest Festival taking place from September 21-23 will be a great opportunity for food lovers to delight their palates with delicious local products. Five renowned local chefs will demonstrate new ways to enjoy a variety of cheeses, the star of this year’s Festival.
Chefs Trevor Rowe (5 Senses Gourmet), Tyler Tays (Royal Oaks), Pierre Richard (Little Louis’), and Nathalie Testi (pastry chef) will be on hand throughout the Festival’s various culinary events.
Pre-Festival activities
Children are invited to take part in creating fun mask cut-outs with artist Suzanne Cormier-Dupuis at a workshop to be held at the Dieppe Arts and Culture Centre (DACC) on Saturday, September 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The workshop is free, but pre-registration is required by contacting the Centre at 854.2787
Festival kickoff
The celebrations begin on Friday, September 21, with the Vineyards and Local Delicacies event to be held at the DACC. The event is an opportunity to discover Atlantic Canadian wines with sommelier Marc Paimpec. Local cheeses will be featured through food prepared by Little Louis’ Restaurant chef Pierre Richard. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the evening. Tickets are selling very quickly and may be purchased at the Dieppe Arts and Culture Centre for $35 until Friday, September 14. After that date, the cost is $45 per ticket.
Dieppe Market takes over Place 1604!
On Saturday, September 22, the Dieppe Market will spread over to Place 1604! The Market will be open from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., as it is every Saturday. As well, a number of free activities will take place at Place 1604 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Last year’s very popular mini-farm and horse rides are back again this year. The chefs will be working under the tent providing cooking demonstrations using products from the Market. This is a great opportunity to try food prepared by renowned local chefs using local products!
Please note that additional parking is available at the Centenaire Arena located at 489 Notre-Dame Street.
Local food celebration
Fill your tummies! Don’t miss the Local Food Celebration on Sunday, September 23, at 11 a.m. Pig roast, vegetables, soup, cheeses, breads and pastries are on the menu. These products will be supplied by Dieppe Market merchants and will be prepared by our team of chefs. Spaces are limited. Tickets are available at the Dieppe Arts and Culture Centre at a cost of $15 for adults ($20 after September 19), $12 for seniors ($15 after September 19) and $7.50 for children ages 12 and under ($10 after September 19).
The Dieppe Harvest Festival aims to be an event that brings people together in the community, as well as one that promotes the quality and diversity of local products in addition to celebrating our community’s cultural vitality.
The event is a joint effort of the City of Dieppe, Really Local Harvest and the Dieppe Arts and Culture Centre.
