Dieppe's Winter Carnival gets a makeover for its 43rd edition
Dieppe's Winter Carnival, formerly known as the Friendship Carnival, returns this year with new features along with a new image and new programming.
In this new program, the Carnival's regular visitors will find the event's traditional activities, such as the sugar shack, the Rotary Club breakfast, and the ice sculpture. There will also be many new activities to please visitors of all ages. Among other things, visitors will be able to participate in clown workshops and visit a mini science centre at the Boys and Girls Club of Dieppe. Numerous outdoor activities will be held during the Carnival, including a rally at Place 1604, foot races and fat-bike races at Rotary St-Anselme Park, an outdoor giant live foosball game and much, much more!
"This year, we are giving Dieppe's Winter Carnival a new lease on life, thanks to its modernized image and its completely revamped programming. We are still offering the activities that people have loved year after year, but we have also approached new partners so that we can offer brand new activities. One of these changes is that we are now scheduling more indoor activities so that we won't be completely at the mercy of the weather," explains Julie Bélanger, City of Dieppe Community Officer.
The Carnival will be held from February 1 to 3. The opening ceremony will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at Place 1604 during the Fun on Ice activity. For further information on Dieppe Winter Carnival programming, please visit dieppe.ca
