Virtual Performance to Mark National Acadian Day
The City of Dieppe will be broadcasting a live performance from the Dieppe Artsand Culture Centre on August 15 to mark National Acadian Day. The public is invited to connect to this tribute to Acadia via the link https://www.facebook.com/dieppenb/live/ or https://youtu.be/tnddjRS05eo
Caroline Savoie will kick off the virtual event at 3:30 p.m. with a 30-minute performance, followed by speeches from elected officials, and a final 30-minute set by Menoncle Jason.
Since it’s not possible to hold a traditional tintamarre this year, the municipality urges residents to celebrate by decorating their property in Acadian colours.
“We invite the people of Dieppe to go out into their yards, in front of their homes and celebrate with family or members of their bubble, to recreate the atmosphere of August 15, while respecting the health rules in effect,” explains Annie Belliveau, a community officer with the city.
About the performers
Caroline Savoie

After winning the 2015 edition of the Festival international de la chanson de Granby, she released her first album in 2016, which earned her numerous awards. Her most recent album, Pourchasser l’aube, was released in February 2019. Savoie is an artist in her own right and a young woman who thrills audiences wherever she goes.
Menoncle Jason
Menoncle Jason hails from Memramcook but now lives in Moncton. He is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer who is constantly creating. The baritone vocalist finds inspiration in the realities of country living and offers songs with a touch of humour that reflect the colours of his home region of southeastern New Brunswick.
