Important training for firefighters
DIEPPE, NB — A few of Dieppe’s firefighters will be taking part, this weekend in Miramichi, in New Brunswick’s largest training session, which is hosted by the New Brunswick Association of Fire Chiefs in collaboration with NBCC and the Office of the Fire Marshal.
Conrad Landry, Dieppe’s Deputy Fire Chief, who also holds the position of Second Vice-President with the New Brunswick Association of Fire Chiefs, stresses the importance of this type of training. “We are looking to ensure the relevancy, quality and consistency of the vocational skills training for firefighters. These types of sessions enable firefighters to follow the same process as they would in an emergency situation.”
Firefighters will also have the opportunity meet with Roger Brown, RCMP Assistant Commissioner, in addition to attending workshops on the jaws of life, rescue at sea and autopump training.
This training session is the largest in New Brunswick, with more than 200 firefighters from across the province.
