Volunteers Wanted for National Acadian Day Celebrations!
DIEPPE, N.B. — The municipality is looking for volunteers for National Acadian Day festivities, which will take place on August 15 at the MusiquART site. Multiple positions are available in the following three areas:
Event entrance
- Shift: 3:30 to 10:30 p.m.
- As a volunteer at the event entrance, you’ll be responsible for welcoming visitors, checking tickets and invitations, and answering any questions people may have. You’ll also check participants’ bags and personal belongings quickly and respectfully. You’ll be required to follow security procedures, report any irregularities to the security manager, and direct visitors to the various event areas as needed. This role requires good customer service skills, the ability to work as part of a team, and a calm demeanour.
Arts and crafts tent
- Shift: 3 to 6 p.m.
- As an arts and crafts tent volunteer, you’ll help participants create festive decorations for the Tintamarre. You’ll welcome visitors, guide them in their choice of materials, and provide instructions for making fun, colourful decorations. You’ll ensure that the tent is organized and tidy, and that materials are available. Your role is to foster creativity, answer questions, and maintain a happy, safe environment for everyone.
Bar (19+)
- Shift: 6 to 11 p.m.
- As a bar volunteer, you’ll be responsible for serving drinks to visitors in an efficient and courteous manner. You’ll welcome customers, take their orders, and prepare and serve drinks, while keeping your workspace clean. You’ll also make sure that customers are of legal drinking age. Your role is to provide excellent customer service while creating a friendly and safe environment for all visitors. The bar service is run by the Rotary Club, which in turn receives a share of the profits.
