Mock drill for six Dieppe cadets
Media representatives are invited to attend a mock emergency drill on Wednesday, March 16 between 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Oulton College.
Six cadets from the Dieppe Fire Department will take part, along with Oulton College paramedical and nursing students, in this 3-day drill.
As in the case of a 911 call, the Fire Department’s emergency vehicle will be dispatched to the scene, where Oulton College students will act as victims. The Paramedical Program students will then take over by transporting the injured victims to Oulton College’s nursing school.
“The steps taken will be the same as in the case of a real 911 call, says Dieppe’s Deputy Fire Chief, Conrad Landry. This fictitious call will provide good practice for these future first responders.”
