Cycling for a good cause in Dieppe
DIEPPE, N.B. - Twenty-nine City of Dieppe employees will ride a giant bicycle to raise funds for the Heart and Stroke Foundation on Monday, September 16, at 9:30 a.m.
Their goal is to raise at least $1,450 during the 20th annual Big Bike event in New Brunswick. The final amount raised by the employees will be announced at the starting point of the race. The route begins at Du Marché Street, then proceeds down Champlain Street to end at Tim Hortons on Paul Street. Police and firefighters will escort the giant bicycle.
“It is essential that City of Dieppe employees support causes such as the Heart and Stroke Foundation,” explain the captains of the team, Marc Melanson, Chief Administration Officer for the City of Dieppe, and Michel Gaudet of Recreational Facilities Division. “We want to raise awareness with the public when it comes to leading an active and healthy life and show our support for organizations such as the Heart and Stroke Foundation.”
