Dieppe Highlights Fire Prevention Week
DIEPPE, N. B. — With the theme “Every Second Counts: Plan 2 Ways Out!”, the City of Dieppe's Fire Department will hold its activities for Fire Prevention Week.
From October 8 to 14, tours of the Dieppe fire station and educational sessions in our schools will be organized to inform and educate residents on fire prevention.
“For us, this week is an opportunity not only to contribute to preventing fires in the community and the loss of property and even lives that fires can cause, but also to remind residents of good habits to adopt throughout the year,” says Robert Bérubé, Fire Prevention Officer.
The Fire Department will hold an open house on Saturday, October 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the station located at 500 Gauvin Road.
There will be bouncy castles, face painting, fire station tours, an emergency vehicle display, a fire prevention information booth, various activities and demonstrations and a community BBQ from noon to 1:30 p.m. in support of the Canadian Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Fire Prevention Week is organized annually in various municipalities around the world with the mission of raising public awareness of adopting safe behaviour and being prepared for the risk of fire.
