Dieppe marks Municipality Week
DIEPPE, NB — The City of Dieppe is pleased to announce that it will be marking New Brunswick’s first-ever Municipality Week, which will take place between September 19 and 25. During the week, the municipality will highlight the daily work of its employees who help to improve the quality of life in Dieppe.
“We should be very proud of our staff for providing quality service day in and day out and for meeting the needs of residents while ensuring that taxpayers’ money is used responsibly and efficiently,” said Mayor Yvon Lapierre. “In the next few days, we will be launching a contest that will allow a youth between 12 and 15 years of age to become mayor for a day and get a first-hand look at the workings of the various departments and City Council,” he added.
The Cities of New Brunswick Association, the Union of the Municipalities of New Brunswick, the Association francophone des municipalités du Nouveau-Brunswick, and the Association of Municipal Administrators of New Brunswick have joined forces to develop this week-long celebration to further encourage civic engagement and highlight the role of municipal staff in delivering essential services that enhance the overall quality of life in New Brunswick.
Residents are encouraged to follow the municipality on social media to learn more about the work of staff and how the City operates.
