Dieppe to Give Away 750 Seedlings to Residents

The City of Dieppe is proud to announce that it will be giving away 750 tree seedlings to residents during Public Works Week. Spruce seedlings will be available from May 16 to 20 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the operations centre located at 100 Rufin Street. First come, first served.

“By distributing these seedlings among residents, we hope to increase the number of trees in the municipality,” says urban forestry technologist Justin Poirier. “Trees not only promote physical and mental health, but they also purify the air, fight climate change and increase property values. Plus, planting a tree is super easy,” he adds.

There are currently over 5,000 trees in Dieppe, and urban forestry is a priority for the City.
