City Relaunches ConneXion Zone at Place 1604

The City of Dieppe is proud to invite residents and visitors to the ConneXion Zone, which will be held at Place 1604 from June 24 to September 1.
The Zone is returning to the downtown core in 2023, in the area around the skating oval. A few years ago, the municipality committed to making Place 1604 a vibrant gathering place that promotes cultural diversity.
“In 2020, the pandemic changed the plans for the ConneXion Zone, which was temporarily replaced by Summer at the Park at Rotary St-Anselme Park,” says Denis LeBlanc, Director of Community Development with the City. “Now that things are gradually returning to normal, the City’s recreation staff have been working hard to bring some hustle and bustle back to Dieppe’s downtown core.”
Residents are therefore invited this summer to explore the site’s giant games, relaxation spaces, activities for young and old, a roller skating oval, local vendors and even a few surprises. Full programming details will be available in the coming weeks at dieppe.ca
The ConneXion Zone was launched for the first time in 2019 in downtown Dieppe and is an innovative, tactical, urban space for the whole family. It is a gathering place that fosters connections, and a unifying community project that allows members of various communities and generations to come together and participate in a host of activities.
Place 1604 is located at 243 Gauvin Road, in the heart of downtown Dieppe. It is surrounded by the Dieppe Arts and Culture Centre, the Dieppe Market, City Hall and the Public Library, as well as numerous merchants, and is home to the Wednesday Show in the summer and the refrigerated skating oval in the winter.
Note that Summer at the Park will not be held this year to make way for the ConneXion Zone. However, the BarBu beer garden will be back at Rotary St-Anselme Park for the entire summer season starting June 17 as well as during activities presented at the park.
