Dieppe Updates Its Strategic Plan and Seeks Input from Residents
DIEPPE, NB — New Brunswick’s fourth-largest municipality is once again experiencing phenomenal growth and continues to stand out on many levels. Mindful of the social, economic and environmental issues that come with growth, the City is embarking on a process to renew its strategic plan. The aim of the exercise is to create a clear, inspiring vision of the future that reflects the community and to set the municipality’s priorities for the next five years.
“With our population increasing by over 10% since 2021, we want to make sure we can properly meet the needs and expectations of our residents,” said Mayor Yvon Lapierre. “Dieppe’s 2025-2029 strategic plan will provide direction to City Council and guide projects and the work of City staff over the next five years. It will be developed with input from community partners and the general public and is a unique opportunity for the municipality and residents to engage in a collective discussion and reflection.”
Public consultations
Residents are invited to an open house that will take place at City Hall (333 Acadie Avenue) on Tuesday, April 9 between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m., to develop a vision for the future of Dieppe.
Residents will be asked to share their aspirations for Dieppe and views on its strengths and challenges, and suggest potential avenues for improvement.
Consultations will also be held with community organizations and other municipal partners.
Residents will also be consulted via a survey during the week of April 15. The survey will be available online and in paper format, so that everyone can participate.
The City invites the public to come out in large numbers and to stay tuned for future developments. Involving residents in updating our municipality’s strategic plan will help us better prepare to face challenges together and guide future actions in a coherent and responsible manner.
