Dieppe launches its first citizen’s jury
DIEPPE, N.B. – The City of Dieppe invites its residents to take part in the second edition of the participatory budgeting project (PBP) by joining the very first citizen’s jury who will hear the projects proposed by the community, and then select those that will appear on the ballot in May 2018.
Based on the themes of an active, connected, creative and green community, 200 project ideas were received between last June and October. Some of them were then transformed into concrete project proposals and will be presented to a citizen’s jury in April.
This is a unique experience that will give participants the chance to meet dynamic, innovative and involved people who want to meet the needs of the community and improve the quality of life in Dieppe. By participating in the PBP, those interested will contribute to transforming our community in a positive way.
Do you want to be part of the very first Dieppe citizens’ jury? Fill out the form at www.dieppe.ca or send an email to pbp@dieppe.ca by Monday, April 2, at noon.
The PBP is a municipal initiative that allows residents to submit a project idea that will serve the community, and that project idea is subsequently submitted for popular vote. This second edition of the PBP will receive an amount of $180,000, with a maximum of $45,000 per project, to implement the projects selected by residents.
