Dieppe celebrates l’Acadie

DIEPPE, N.B.— Come celebrate August 15 at the MusiquART site in Dieppe, the world’s largest Acadian city! Performers will include La Bottine Souriante, 1755, Reveil, Laurie LeBlanc and more. And it’s free!
This is the 41st year that Dieppe has celebrated Acadian Day. The annual event is eagerly awaited by festivalgoers. The festivities are getting a facelift this year, with a new logo depicting our collective celebration of Acadian culture.
The MusiquART site will host a number of family activities, including bouncy castles and an arts and crafts tent, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The traditional Tintamarre procession will leave from the MusiquART site at 5:55 p.m., a time that symbolizes 1755, the year of the Great Upheaval. Participants will travel down Collège, Champlain and Notre Dame before returning to the site of the festivities.

There will also be food vendors and a cash bar on site. Part of the proceeds from the bar will be donated to charity.
Festivalgoers will be able to park at the UNIplex and CCNB.
