Dieppe Celebrating Canada Day Virtually
The City of Dieppe is reinventing its Canada Day celebrations as a virtual event. Programming will be in the form of a Facebook Live event that will begin at 10:30 a.m. and finish around noon on July 1.
The event will kick off with the singing of the national anthem, followed by speeches from elected officials. Next will be a children’s performance by Art Richard, to conclude with a presentation by Indigenous motivational speaker Savvy Simon.
“Given the present situation and the fact that we cannot organize events that bring together large numbers of people, we’ve turned to technology to offer virtual entertainment for residents. It was important for us at the municipality to mark Canada Day and we’re proud to present an event that will be fun for the entire family,” said Annie Belliveau, Community Officer for the City of Dieppe.
