Dieppe Celebrates National Public Works Week
The City of Dieppe is pleased to participate actively in the National Public Works Week from May 19 - 25, under this year’s theme “Public works, it starts here.”
This week provides an opportunity to highlight the importance of the work done by the employees of all services to the community and the impact it has on the quality of our resident’s everyday life.
Several activities will be offered free of charge during National Public Works Week to please both young and grown-ups alike. Come one, come all!
- Tuesday, May 21 — Open House at the Aquatic and Sports Center located at 111 Aquatic Street from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. What is hidden under the pools where the filtration system is? Come discover how the pool operators ensure that the water in the pools is of good quality.
- Wednesday, May 22 — Open House at the Operations Center located at 100 Rufin Street between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.. Come see the heavy equipment up close, visit the facilities and ask questions to the employees. There will be a free BBQ between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and between 4 and 6 p.m., as well as door prizes.
- Wednesday, May 22 — Guided tours of the Airport pumping station, located at 1689 Champlain Street, between 4 and 7 p.m.. Learn more about the role of water pumping stations and how they work.
- Thursday, May 23 — Have you always wondered what the inside of the water tower looks like? Come to the water tower at 1454 Amirault Street between 4 and 7 p.m. and learn how water gets to your tap.
