Dieppe celebrates National Public Works Week
DIEPPE, NB — The City of Dieppe will be actively participating in the National Public Works Week from May 20-26, under this year’s theme “The Power of Public Works.”
The week provides an opportunity to highlight the important work done by the employees from all community services and the impact it has on the quality of our residents’ everyday life.
Several activities for young and old alike will be offered free of charge during the National Public Works Week. Come one, come all!
- Saturday, May 12 — Booth at the Dieppe Market where water conservation tips will be shared.
- Tuesday, May 22 — Open house at the Aquatic and Sports Centre located at 111 Aquatique Street, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. What is hiding under the pools with the filtration system? Come find out how the pool operators, certified by the National Swimming Pool Foundation, ensure water quality.
- Wednesday, May 23 — Open house at the Operations Centre, located at 100 Rufin Street, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Come take a look at the heavy equipment, visit the facilities, ask the employees questions and participate in draws. There will be a free BBQ between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. as well as face painting for children!
- Thursday, May 24 — Have you always wondered what the inside of the water tower looks like? Come to the water tower at 1464 Amirault Street between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. and learn how water gets to your tap.
