Dieppe Celebrates International Day of Older Persons
DIEPPE, NB — In cooperation with the Dieppe seniors’ committee, the City of Dieppe is proud to launch a series of activities surrounding the International Day of Older Persons, which takes place on Saturday, Oct. 1. A lunch and learn session will held on the actual day (Oct. 1). Tickets will be on sale at $10 a piece throughout September and can be purchased at 877.7905.
Activities geared to residents aged 50 and over during the week in question will include card and board games at Doiron House from 1 to 3 p.m. on Monday (Oct. 3). Admission is free, and tea and coffee will be served.
On Tuesday (Oct. 4), the Dieppe Public Library will hold a tablet and computer help and troubleshooting workshop at 2 p.m. Participants must register in advance at 877.7945.
At 10 a.m. on Wednesday (Oct. 5) and 1 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 6), guided tours and sensory swim sessions will be available at the Dieppe Aquatic and Sports Centre, at a cost of $2.
On Wednesday (Oct. 5), a group will meet at Doiron House at 1 p.m. to go trail-walking, and on Thursday (Oct. 6), a fall-themed session will be held, again at Doiron House, for participants interested in arts and crafts. Tea and coffee will be served at both events.
