Back to SearchDIEPPE, NB — In anticipation of the rain expected tomorrow, the Curbside Treasure pickup is postponed to Sunday, April 30, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Residents are encouraged to create more space in their homes by placing items in good condition curbside. These items placed curbside can become treasures for others, all the while reducing our environmental impact.
If you decide to participate, display a sign indicating that your items can be claimed free of charge (available at dieppe.ca) and make sure the items you don’t want to give away are not placed curbside.
Curbside treasures can be books, compact disks and DVDs, furniture and small appliances, sports gear, toys, garden tools, kitchen accessories, dinnerware, cutlery, pots, pans, unwanted gifts, electronic devices and clothing.
Some items are not permitted during this treasure hunt such as construction material, paint, bed bug infested items (e.g. mattress and bedding), and things listed as dangerous items (complete list at eco360.ca). Visit Health Canada’s Consumer Product Safety Bureau’s website for a list of children’s items that are not recommended for curbside pickup.
In order to avoid violating the bylaw regulating the collection of waste (C-2), please put away your unclaimed treasures no later than 6 p.m. on the day of the activity.
What to do with unclaimed treasures? Rather than restoring them in your basement where they will continue collecting dust, why not donate them to different community organizations? Happy hunting!
