Collection of Donations for the Victims of the Gauvin Road Apartment Building Fire
During the night of September 19 to 20, an apartment building on Gauvin Road caught fire, forcing the evacuation of roughly 50 people. The community has mobilized to help these individuals.
Several volunteers are organizing a collection of items and donations that will be given to the victims in need.
The drop-off point will be at the Club d’âge d’or seniors centre at 445 Acadie Avenue in Dieppe.
Here is a list of items that people can contribute:
- Monetary donations or gift certificates (restaurants, groceries, etc.)
- Women’s, men’s and children’s clothing
- Shoes and boots
- Snowsuits, toques, mittens, gloves
- Sheets and blankets
- Towels
- Furniture (sofas, tables, chairs, lamps, desks)
- Utensils, dishes, pots and pans
- Toiletries (shampoo, soap, toothpaste, etc.)
Please ensure that the items are in good condition.
Items can be dropped off at the Club d’âge d’or only when volunteers are present.
Drop-off schedule:
- Thursday, September 24 – 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
- Sunday, September 27 – 6 to 8 p.m.
- Tuesday, September 29 – 1 to 3 p.m.
- Thursday, October 1 – 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
- Sunday, October 4 – 6 to 8 p.m.
Items that have not been distributed among disaster victims will be given to charities. Thank you for your generosity!
