Canada Day Celebrations
DIEPPE, N.B. – The City of Dieppe will celebrate Canada's 150th birthday on Saturday, July 1, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Place 1604.
Starting in the morning, the public is invited to participate in a tasting activity at the Dieppe Market. Then, a short protocol ceremony will be held at the Place 1604 fountain, followed by the national anthem performed by Mixtape. During this time, a family run will be led by the Running Room at the Arthur-J.-LeBlanc Arena.
To conclude the event, Canadian artist Claude Roussel will unveil the work of art in the centre of the Place 1604 fountain, highlighting the 10th anniversary of the location. Claude Roussel is the recipient of many awards, including the Order of Canada in 1984 and the 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada Medal in 1992. He has also designed many prominent sculptures, including Dyna Bolts/Énerloizes for the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games Sculpture Garden.
