Traffic and road work
DIEPPE, N.B. — Back to school means higher road traffic in the morning and on the way back home. Every year in September, the same thing happens: traffic suddenly flows less smoothly. There is a very simple explanation for this: buses are back out on the roads, parents drive their children to school and people return to work after a few weeks of vacation. Furthermore, roadwork on the municipality’s main streets will only be completed later in the fall, which could also cause delays.
We therefore strongly urge motorists to allow for extra travel time during the first few weeks of September, until traffic returns to normal.
Update: marsh reconstruction
The work being done on Amirault Street and Acadie Avenu is continuing. A lot of work has been done the last few weeks because of good weather conditions. However, there’s still a lot of work still left to finish.
Overnight closures of Acadie Avenue and Amirault Street will be ongoing starting Monday, September 7 from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. every night until Friday, September 11. Two lanes - one lane in each direction – will be opened during the day.
In the upcoming weeks, road work will be scheduled for the intersection of Chartersville Road and Amirault Street. Work will also include some overnight closures on Chartersville Road between Amirault and Bahama Streets.
Please note that all businesses will remain accessible during this work.
The City regrets any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates your patience and co-operation.
