It’s kite time tomorrow at Dover Park!
DIEPPE (N.B.) — The 9th edition of Dieppe KITE International begins tomorrow with a number of activities for the entire family at Dover Park.
The festival will welcome more than 50 kite fliers from Canada, Germany, England, Columbia, Denmark, the United States, France, Haiti, Indonesia, Israel, Netherlands, Sweden and Tasmania.
Here is the schedule for Wednesday, August 14:
1 p.m.
P’tit Louis and Marie concert presented by the Pays de la Sagouine, $2 children (12 and under), $3 adults (13 and over)
Candy shower
Exhibit tent opens – See the kites from the creation contest (“solar system” theme)
1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Kite demonstrations (one-line, acrobatic, inflatable, creations and free flight)
Atlantic Superstore’s kite-making tent (Passports available here)
1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Artisans’ Fair open
2 p.m.
Installation of banners from the banner creation contest (“social media” theme)
Running of the Bols and mini Rokkaku combats for children
3 p.m.
Candy shower
4 p.m.

As well, with the help of students from Dieppe schools, artist Suzanne Cormier-Dupuis will present the Wind Garden which was created with recycled and reused materials that will use the wind as a conducting element. The Wind Garden will be presented throughout the festival.
