Seeking candidates for the Dieppe Sports Hall of Fame
DIEPPE (NB) — The Dieppe Sports Hall of Fame wants to highlight and recognize the achievements of athletes, teams, coaches and builders in Dieppe.
‘There are two categories, said Sonya Babineau, community agent for the City of Dieppe, participant, which includes athletes or a team and builder where you will find organizers, coachs, managers or officials. Nominations must be submitted no later than Wednesday, October 14 by filling out the nomination form available at dieppe.ca’
The presentation document must include a maximum of 10 pages, including annexes such as photos, letters, certificates, etc.
‘Before submitting a nomination, the consent of the individual is required added Babineau. Where the person being nominated is deceased, the consent of an immediate family member would be preferable.'
Those selected for induction into the Dieppe Sports Hall of Fame will be honored as part of a recognition ceremony and will receive a certificate and souvenir commemorating their entry into the Dieppe Sports Hall of Fame.
An artwork commemorating each inductee’s entry will be created by a professional artist and displayed permanently in the Arthur-J.-LeBlanc Centre’s lobby.
Here are the eligibility criterias
- nominated in a single category;
- inactive in the sport for at least two years;
- must be a resident or from Dieppe or whose involvement in the sport occurred (for the most part) in Dieppe;
- represented the city of Dieppe at sanctioned competitions;
- participated in a sport recognized by Sports NB.
