Commemorative ceremony to mark 80th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy to take place in Dieppe
DIEPPE, NB — A delegation including Second World War Veterans, their caregivers, and dignitaries will be in Dieppe on June 5 for a wreath-laying ceremony at the Place 1604 Cenotaph.
Public participants should plan to arrive by 9:30 a.m. as the event will begin promptly at 10 a.m.
In the event of severe inclement weather, the event will take place inside the Dieppe Arts and Culture Centre.
For the occasion, a portion of Gauvin Road as well as some parking lots in the downtown core will be closed. These closures are essential to ensure the safety of all participants and the smooth running of the event. Please see the parking map for details.
Commemorative ceremonies are also taking place throughout the week in Moncton, Ottawa and other communities from coast to coast to coast. For more information, see the official Veterans Affairs Canada press release.
