Official announcement of Dieppe’s Age-Friendly Community designation
The City of Dieppe invites the public to join the mayor and council on Monday, April 15, for the official announcement of the city’s Age-Friendly Community designation.
There will be a presentation on the objectives and advantages of this designation at a standing committee meeting starting at 5:30 p.m. in the City Hall council chambers. A reception will follow in the lobby, where the Province of New Brunswick’s representative responsible for the AFC program and the chair of the Dieppe Seniors Committee will be in attendance. Refreshments will be served.
An age-friendly community promotes active aging by optimizing the health, participation and safety of senior residents with the goal of improving their quality of life and making their environment safer and more user-friendly. Policies, services and buildings that incorporate social and physical elements are designed to help seniors remain active, enjoy good health, and actively participate in community activities.
