Activities and shows for everyone during the Dieppe Kite International
DIEPPE, NB — More than 100 kite flyers from around the world will flock to Dover Park in Dieppe for the 11th edition of the Dieppe Kite International that runs from August 12-16.
Music shows, a children’s area featuring inflatables, candy showers and a creation tent will be available for kids, drawing more than 3,000 young people each year.
Kite demonstrations, Rokkaku combats, stunt kites and giant kites also await you.
“We are expecting to see over 500 different kites during the festival, says Louis LeBlanc, President of the organizing committee. The kites will come in all forms and colours imaginable.”
Better known as the Pays de la Sagouine’s likeable character “Citrouille”, Luc LeBlanc will be presenting his new comedy act entitled “100 % Viril” along with fellow actors André Roy and Robert Gauvin. The show will take place at the Mathieu-Martin school auditorium on August 14 at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at both Jean-Coutu locations in Dieppe; the cost is $20 in advance or $30 at the door.
Two must-see events will be offered free of charge: the night kite flying on August 14 where approximately forty kite flyers will fly their kite to the sound of music and light movement, offering an amazing spectacle at Dover Park; and an indoor flight show taking place at the Arthur-J.-LeBlanc Centre from 9-11 a.m. on August 14-15.
The Dieppe Kite International will take place at Dover Park at the following times:
