What is the City’s approach to densification? |
Densification is encouraged to limit urban sprawl. It preserves green spaces and reduces infrastructure maintenance costs. High-density zones are identified in the Municipal Development Plan. In addition, the municipality is currently developing an Urban Growth Strategy in order to identify the pitfalls of rapid growth to be avoided. |

The City does not cut trees on private land, but it regulates tree-cutting and requires replanting. Funds from our new tree bylaw are being used for replanting. |
